The First Year Research Lab is targeted towards students completing their first college research projects in ENG114, HCS100, and other 100-level courses. A Research Lab is a 1-hour workshop that supports and enhances the learning students do in class and on their own to prepare for class. These labs are focused workshopping sessions that both help students with research assignments and provide an introduction to increasingly sophisticated strategies as they navigate the research process (topic development, searching for sources, revising a researching question, and refining a thesis).
